In Module 1, students start to decode by learning a few basic phoneme-grapheme correspondences, blending them into simple words such as la, si and va. 

Material covered includes:

• a, i, l, m, v, s, 

• mots à coeur un, une, mon

• structures syllabiques V, CV, VC (V=voyelle, C=consonne)

• le genre (masculin ou féminin)

Module 1 is divided into 6 lessons and contains 124 slides in total. Teachers are encouraged to dedicate time to reviewing material in each module as needed. Mini-evaluations are found in the Teacher’s Manual.
